Bob Barr: The Experience to Advance Manufacturing Jobs

In Congress, I will champion manufacturing in America and our in the 11th District.

The core of any policy to promote business is a sensible tax structure and limited oversight by government. It’s also essential to develop a pro-jobs energy policy.

In Congress I will support legislation to:

  • Reduce the cost of complying with federal regulations.
  • Support an “all-of-the-above” approach to energy production.
  • Promote policies that encourage stewardship, drive innovation, and recognize the global impact of environmental policy on job creators.
  • Ensure that the benefits of regulations justify their costs to manufacturers in the United States — a goal toward which I worked when I served in the Congress from 1995 to 2003.
  • Support efforts to modernize and invest in infrastructure to help manufacturers in the United States more efficiently move people, products, and ideas.
  • Implement sensible, fair legal reform.
  • Reduce healthcare costs.
  • Support a global trade policy which opens international markets and reduces regulatory and tariff barriers.
  • Support improved export promotion programs and export credit assistance for both small and large manufacturers.
  • Address regulations and mandates that undermine employer flexibility and ultimately discourage the hiring of new employees.

I will continue to work closely with chambers of commerce, industrial development authorities, and all our local business owners and their support groups such as NFIB, to create an environment conducive to new jobs and expanding existing businesses to increase hiring and production.

I have the experience to promote manufacturing jobs in our district and to get Washington out of the way of our job creators here in Georgia. I’ve done it before and I will do it again.
