Stand with Israel

I am committed to Israel’s defense as a sovereign, independent, Jewish state. Israel has earned the trust and respect of the people of Georgia and the United States, and as your Member of Congress I will again support the special relationship between the U.S. and Israel, and will seek to ensure its strength and foster its growth.

Such support is both morally justified and in the interests of the United States. Israel’s strength is a force for stability in the Middle East, and serves as a base for the deployment of U.S. forces for the protection of America’s military and economic interests; it also enhances the collection of intelligence for the protection of the U.S. from terrorist attacks.

The United States could not ask for a better friend and ally than we have in Israel. I am proud to stand with the people of Israel and support the sovereign state of Israel.A long line of U.S. Presidents have supported legislation to locate the Embassy of the United States of America in Jerusalem. I was honored to be an original co-sponsor of H.R.1595, the “Jerusalem Embassy Relocation Implementation Act of 1995,” when I served previously in the Congress, and when elected again, I will continue to support such legislation.

Supporting regime change in Iran clearly is in the national security interest of the United States. The current leadership in Iran poses one of the greatest threats to peace in the world today. The United States must actively oppose the development of military nuclear capability by Iran; even as we support development of a truly democratically elected government in Iran.
